Aachen

The EMIG organizers welcome you to the beautiful city of Aachen!

The westernmost city in Germany is famous for its history. Even the Romans were using the thermal springs, which made the city a famous spa town in the Middle Ages. During his reign, Charlemagne made Aachen an important political and cultural center. Numerous buildings, such as Aachen Cathedral, still bear witness to this today.

Today, Aachen is a student city, famous for the RWTH Aachen University. Student life characterizes the face of the city. Its international flair is also due to its location at the border triangle Germany –  Belgium – Netherlands. Enjoy your walk through the city center!
